Literature Review

The articles I am reviewing suggest a link between the repeated playing of video games and display of anti-social behaviour and/or criminal behaviour. Scott Daugherty describes an 18-years-old Burnie who was sentenced to seven years in prison after driving at two boys. Burnie stated that he was inspired by Grand Theft Auto into perfoming a 'door check',(opening the driver's door whilst moving at high speed to cause an impact with pedestrians). DolphGB, a contributor to the PS3 Attitude Forum suggest in his article that there is no such thing as 'door checking' in GTA and that in the Burnie case this was not a contributory factor.

Craig Anderson states that there is a significant relationship between playing video games and aggressive behaviour but it doesn't have to be the only factor. There can be many other issues such as biological factors, family factors, neighborhood factors, and so on.

VARK Questionnaire

The VARK Questionnaire results:

Vs: 1
As: 1
Rs: 2
Ks: 10

The results didn't surprise me as I always knew that the best way for me is to learn by doing. I've never tried to improve my others skills hard enough to be honest. I always say 'If something works properly, what's the point of changing it'.

S.W.O.T.

Strengths:

- Confident in what I’m doing
- Open to the criticism
- Good listener
- More curious than afraid of unknown.
- Not afraid of a failure - I’m trying to learn from it rather than look for an excuse.

Weaknesses:

- Sometimes find hard working in team
- In general too lazy :)
- Too many ideas at once - which makes me forget about previous ones

Opportunities:

- To learn to what I am interested in - what will lead to the future I want.

Threats:

The main threat could’ve been either illness or an accident, other ‘threats’ can be always avoided or solved.

PDP - Learning Line

The most enjoyable time, I spent in Primary School. I learned quite few new things about myself. That I'm stubborn and always do everything the way I want - which brought me many troubles throughout my educational experiences.

After school most of my time was consumed by participating in dancing activities e.g. training, shows, running lessons. I've learned a lot about discipline and team work. Unfortunately a few injuries prevented me from continuing with my dancing.

Secondary School didn't change my attitude.

As I was always interested in computers and knowing that I wasn't able to dance as much as I liked anymore, I went to do an IT course. I met some very inspiring people and decided that I will follow this path.

I decided to do a bit of a travelling around Europe to finally make my mind up. I met some very interesting people on my way and had some interesting experiences. Ending up with me studying IT at Anglia Ruskin.
